What to Expect When You Contact Us

We do not run a call-center model. Every initial consultation is handled by a licensed adjuster, not a sales screener. Here is what happens after you reach out:

1.

Initial response

Phone calls to 833-4UR-LOSS are answered during normal business hours (Mon-Fri, 9 AM-6 PM CT/ET). Web-form and email inquiries are routed to a licensed adjuster and answered as promptly as practical, typically within 1 business day. Your information is not sold.

2.

Free claim review

A licensed public adjuster speaks with you about the loss, the policy, and the carrier's position to date. DCS holds Texas Firm License #3134924 and Florida Firm License #W820363; individual adjusters are licensed by both states (Joshua Osteen: TX #2237777 / FL #W045717). There is no charge for the review and no obligation to engage.

3.

Engagement decision

If you choose to engage us, we send a written Public Adjuster Service Agreement for electronic signature. The agreement complies with Texas Insurance Code Chapter 4102 and Florida Statute §626.854. Florida grants a written three-business-day right of cancellation under §626.854. Nothing is signed during the initial consultation.

4.

Active representation

Once engaged, we file a written notice of representation with the carrier, request the existing claim file, and schedule a property inspection. Status updates are provided through your preferred channel - phone, email, or SMS - on a regular basis.

Contact & Consultation FAQ

Is the initial consultation really free?

+
Yes. There is no charge for the initial review and no obligation to engage us afterward. Our fee for full representation is contingent on additional recovery, set within Texas and Florida statutory caps, and disclosed in writing in the Public Adjuster Service Agreement before any work begins.

What information should I have ready when I call?

+
Helpful (but not required): your insurance carrier name, the date of loss, your claim number if one has been issued, the type of damage, and a copy of your declarations page. If you do not have any of those at hand, call anyway - we can request most of it from the carrier on your behalf once representation is in place.

Do you take after-hours emergency calls?

+
For urgent matters such as active leaks, structural compromise, or fire after-hours, call 833-4UR-LOSS and follow the prompts. For non-urgent inquiries, a next-business-day reply is more efficient and gets you a better-prepared response from a licensed adjuster.

How fast do you respond to web-form submissions?

+
Web-form submissions are routed to a licensed adjuster and answered as promptly as practical, typically within 1 business day.

What service areas do you cover for in-person inspections?

+
Texas: the entire state, with field operations centered in the Greater Houston / Gulf Coast region (Harris, Galveston, Brazoria, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Liberty, Chambers counties) and rapid mobilization to Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio for catastrophe events. Florida: the entire state, with field operations centered in South Florida (Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade) and statewide mobilization for hurricane events.

Can you help if I have already filed a claim and feel underpaid?

+
Yes - re-opens are a substantial portion of our practice. Most underpaid claims involve missed scope (matching, code-upgrade exposure, ALE, contents), an unfavorable cause-of-loss determination, or a unilateral closure. We re-document, request the carrier's file, and either negotiate the supplement or invoke appraisal under the policy.

Will contacting you start a clock or commit me to anything?

+
No. Reaching out does not create representation, file anything with your carrier, or change your policy rights. Representation begins only when you sign a written contract. The conversation itself is confidential and free of obligation.
